Ultrasonic

Great effort by a first-time director
You hear a lot of talk about how filmmaking is getting easier and easier these days because new technologies like digital cameras and video processing software are getting cheaper. But those things don't make a great movie. A great movie requires a certain eye for how to frame the shots, a script that isn't full of cliches and stilted dialogue, and actors that turn in believable performances.

Ultrasonic is a movie that proves that a great film can be made by a first time director, using a novice crew and actors, all for only a few thousand dollars. This isn't the greatest movie ever made, but it certainly looks a lot more professional than a lot of other movies made by first-time directors working with micro budgets. Seriously, watch the trailer and judge for yourself. I think that Ultrasonic raises the bar for what people should expect from micro-budget films.

I'm excited to see what Rao does next, especially if he can convince a studio to give him some...

For some strange reason I really liked this movie
In spite of the movie being a little slow at times I really enjoyed it. The movie makes you question your own sanity and whether or not you are crazy for holding onto your own beliefs.

Different... interesting
I liked the story here-- what happens if you get just one idea that might or might not be real? Is it a conspiracy, or are you starting to lose it ?

I suspect that this was made with a small budget, although nothing is exactly lacking. Hopefully there will be more people taking a chance and making something cool like this...without big corporate backing.
